Holy crap.. I was going to say " not again! "
You guys need to just move out of there.
Any leads?
Well, not yet. But we go to arbitration tomorrow over the window fiasco. That just might be the straw that broke the camel's back.
Yikes! That freaks me out too and I haven't lived there for ages! The memory of coming home to that will never ever leave me.
Hey, your address wouldn't happen to be 1201 West Georgia is it?
You're not trying to bait me into an argument about privacy rights, are you?
Nope, but if it is 1201 West Georgia - then I have located a photograph of your building dated 191? in the Vancouver Archives - go to my posting today called FROM MILLTOWN TO METROPOLIS and one of the 'replies' is a link to the photograph in the archives. It sure looks like your building judging from the photos above.
Nice pictures! In one of my books Vancouver's First Century there is a wide panorama shot (on pg.32-33) from 1890 that looks out towards your general vicinity from what was then the Hotel Vancouver (I think the hotel has moved about locations during the early years)- looks like either residential or vacant use before that building was built. I have also seen a bird's eye view map at teh City Archives dated 1898 and your lot is shown with what looks like a house drawn in.
There is a book store around Cambie & 18th near the Park Theatre that has a copy of the above-mentioned book for sale used. Some great old pictures conatined in it and worth picking up if you're into the subject (cost about $20) | |
