With the snow falling Elaine and I finished off the Christmas decorations today. For fun I also photographed the room with my infra-red camera.

Infrared + visible

Infrared only.

I find it really neat that the LED lights have almost no bleed into the infrared.

That's it. I Just Can't Take It Anymore.

I'm breaking into your apartment tonight & stealing that wonderful f***ing Infrared gizmo of yours, if only to keep me from tearing my hair out from sheer envy every time I see one of your marvelous digital IR pics. It's simply unfair that I should struggle for years perfecting emulsion-based IR photography & then have to deal w/ you coming out the other end of a tinkering spasm w/ this kick-arse photo toy. You understand.

Or I could simply get my hands on a Olympus myself & beg / bribe you to tweak it in a similar manner. You're quite free to turn down my plea, but keep in mind a refusal will result in me seducing both Jazz & Tharsis. After I'm done giving them my Smartpatrol brand of Kuttywuv they just won't Wuv you two anymore. You'll be reduced to endless repetitions of the "Jingle Cats" CD for solace (Sorry Elaine. Nothing personal, just proxy).

You have been warned. Resistance Is Futile. Remember, I AM a f***king SuperHero.

LOL!

Seriously though, you can modify just about any digital camera to see infra-red by taking out the IR filter in front of the CCD and replacing it with glass. Canon even sells (Japanese market only) a version of the Digital Rebel that doesn't have the IR low-pass filter. To get "pure" IR you then need to add a black filter to remove the visible light - at first I was using an exposed piece of colour negative before I shelled out the $100-odd bucks on a proper filter.

Beautifully done! I enjoyed the "stiletto" and "boot" stockings too... how long until you attach some little silver buckles to the sides of them? :)
