Valerian in a Kambriel Dress
[3rd Feb, 2008|04:00]
|
Saturday afternoon I did a shoot with valerian and her kambriel dress. When we were looking thought the pictures on the camera Elaine suggested I run the bunch from the last set together as a video. Here is the result: |

Time-Traveller's Top Hat V2
[27th Nov, 2007|19:44]
|

My second steampunk top-hat for Elaine's store. This one is a larger size than the earlier one, the inside circumference is about 24 inches (61cm), equivalent to a USA 7 5/8 or UK 7 1/2. Best fits heads measuring between 23 3/4 inches to 24 1/4 inches (depends how angled you wear it). If that is a bit too big, Elaine sells hat foam that can be inserted to reduce the size up to one inch (three hat sizes). http://www.artofadornment.ca/catalogue.php?category=Hats |

Time-Traveller's Hat
[15th Oct, 2007|21:32]
|
You may recall that I bought some gears a while back. Here is the first fruit from that crop:

The hat will be for sale in Elaine's store tomorrow. If it is well-received, there will be many more like it (but no two will ever be the same). Each gear is hand-sewn to the hat, as it the leather hat-band, and brass "feather". The gears on the stalk of the "feather" are soldered while those at the ends are held by the wire. The hat itself is quality 100% wool felt. I'm not sure what the exact hat size is, only that Best fits heads measuring between 21 3/4 inches to 22 1/4 inches (depends how angled you wear it) - to avoid the temptation of keeping it, it is a size too small for me. Check the new items list in Elaine's store tomorrow for the details. |

Works in Progress

The early stages of the fourth Red Chair painting. This a very poor quality photo so a lot of the nuance of the colours is lost. |

A few bits and bobs for my next steampunk project. I'm not saying what it is yet other than it will be a product for Elaine's store, Art of Adornment. |

A while back I gave this woman in Edmonton permission to create a derivative work based on one of the Tristan series of photographs for Art of Adornment. This is the result. |

My first all original "vintage" stereographic animation. The photograph was made during the shoot for Art of Adornment last July. I made several other stereoscopic images during that shoot which I have only just developed today (film!). So, more to come. BTW, the "scratch" on one of the frames was not photoshopped in - it's a cat hair that introduced itself while scanning the negatives, courtesy tharsis. It adds to the vintage feel, so I left it. | |
